I work at the British Library for the IMPACT Project. IMPACT is research project funded under the seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission, dedicated to lowering the historic barriers to mass digitisation of text-based resources and improving the state of the art in optical character recognition. IMPACT includes libraries, universities, research centres and private companies.
I have worked at the BL since 2002 in a variety of roles, but most usually in a digitisation workflow. I have also worked for IBM as a communications officer and technical writer; and for The Sunday Times as a news reporter.
