Abstract: e-Science has brought advanced technologies to multiple disciplines, first to early adopters, and then with broader uptake we are seeing new digital methods enabling new research practice and outcomes. With this evolution we also see the emergence of new sharable artefacts which drop into the tooling of digital research, and we can look at these as an alternative to the paper publications which underpin the traditional scholarly knowledge cycle. This talk will discuss reproducible and reusable methods in the context of data-centric research in and between multiple disciplines, and suggest a future "beyond the PDF" which includes executable papers and computational research objects.
