Geranylgeranyltransferase type 1 or simply geranylgeranyltransferase is one of the three enzymes in the prenyltransferase group. In specific terms, Geranylgeranyltransferase (GGTase 1) adds a 20-carbon isoprenoid called a geranylgeranyl group to proteins bearing a CaaX motif:a four-amino acid sequence at the carboxyl terminal of a protein. Geranylgeranyltransferase inhibitors are being investigated as anti-cancer agents.

The type of water in a story or novel is just as important as the fact that water is used as a symbol. Rivers often represent the flow of life or fertility. Rivers are typically used as symbols by authors because rivers flow; they are constantly moving and they follow a distinct path. Oceans, on the other hand, because of their scope in relation to the earth, often represent obstacles or abysses from which things emerge or that characters must journey across to reach a destination. Oceans are...

~~The term ‘5 – batch analysis’ originates from the US EPA guidelines for testing of pesticides. The term is accepted now by most regulatory bodies like EEC, Indian registration authorities namely CIB & RC and other countries as well. There are no guidelines of OECD for this study. The study is essential to determine the composition of the product with respect to the active ingredient and its associated impurities.

The unsteady flow can be analyzed by Saint-Venant equations. These equations can be solved by characteristics and finite difference methods. The Saint-Venant equations are changed into four complete differential equations in characteristics method and these equation are solved by drawing two characteristics lines. The Saint-Venant equations are changed into a set non-linear equations and are solved using Preissman scheme in finite difference method. This set equation are changed into linear e...

Previous studies have shown that zinc deficiency leads to apoptosis of neuronal precursor cells in vivo and in vitro. In addition to the role of p53 as a nuclear transcription factor in zinc deficient cultured human neuronal precursors (NT-2), we have now identified the translocation of phosphorylated p53 to the mitochondria and p53-dependent increases in the pro-apoptotic mitochondrial protein BAX leading to a loss of mitochondrial membrane potential as demonstrated by a 25% decrease in JC-1...

Hydro geology (hydro- meaning water, and -geology meaning the study of the Earth) is the area of geology that deals with the distribution and movement of groundwater in the soil and rocks of the Earth's crust (commonly in aquifers). The term geo-hydrology is often used interchangeably. Some make the minor distinction between a hydrologist or engineer applying themselves to geology (geo...

Hydraulics is a topic in applied science and engineering dealing with the mechanical properties of liquids or fluids. At a very basic level, hydraulics is the liquid version of pneumatic. Fluid mechanics provides the theoretical foundation for hydraulics, which focuses on the engineering uses of fluid properties. In fluid power, hydraulics are used for the generation, control, and transmission of power by the use of pressurized liquids. Hydraulic topics range through some part of science and ...

Excessive use of chemical fertilizers, especially nitrogen fertilizers to increase crop and improper purification, and delivery of municipal and industrial wastewater are proposed as factors that increase the amount of nitrate in groundwater in this area. Thus, investigation of nitrate contamination as one of the most important environmental problems in groundwater is necessary. In the present study, modeling and estimation of nitrate pollution in groundwater of marginal area of Zayandeh-rood...
